Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Main and North cover over 86,000 acres, while Yakima Training Center in central Washington cover over 320,000 acres. Over 41,000 military service members and 15,000 civilians work at JBLM.

It is home to I Corps, 62nd Airlift Wing, 7th Infantry Division, 593rd Expeditionary, Sustainment Command (ESC), 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), 2/75 Ranger Regiment, 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), multiple elements of the 2nd Infantry Division, and numerous other tenant units.

Joint Base Lewis McChord is located in western Washington, northeast of the Nisqually River between Olympia and Tacoma. The area sits along the banks of the Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest.

The area boasts stunning views of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. It is lush with evergreen trees, rolling hills, and rivers. There are many recreational activities to engage in Washington, such as skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking.
